excerpt from The Awakened Soul: Discovering the Light Within by Lynn Patner, M.S.W. www.lynnpatner.com

Writing this book of teaching memories has been another adventure as well as an intention. I am a storyteller. I love telling stories. I set my intention to tell stories to plant seeds of awakening, and then I step aside. In the end, it is always up to the listeners and readers to open up and to ask themselves what their journey is revealing. One thing I am certain of: we are always heard, and we are answered by angels, guides, or something else. I know with certainty — we are always answered. Sometimes, we don’t get the answer we want, but a lesson is always involved. Sometimes, we are just too unconscious to hear or see the answers.

When you launch an objective such as, “I want to be spiritual in two years,” you don’t have to know anything or do anything for it to happen. You only need to be fully present. By setting your intentions, you are sending a clear message to the universe. I didn’t have a clue I was being listened to, but I set the intention, and the roller coaster started.

Write down your intentions. What do you want for your life?

One of my biggest lessons was accepting that I do not have control over what happens in my life. I had a difficult time with this lesson, and it gets repeated often as I still need to work on it even now. The only control I have is my attitude. Sometimes, I still forget that.
