I believe that I have read most of the books written on the elusive subject of Atlantis and it started when I was young. My parents had a great library, not huge, but meaningful books. I read Plato in my early teens, a small volume, which I came across again while going through my mom’s books after her death and, although at the time, I didn’t remember much of what Plato wrote then in my early teens, I remembered the story of Atlantis. Maybe that triggered my fascination with Atlantis.

This new book, Visions of Atlantis, Rethinking our Lost Ancient Legacy by Michael Le Flem has taken every source, every story, every mention, gathered all the information together and condensed it, explained it, put it in proper setting, and knit together a history that is powerful. This is an extraordinary undertaking. I think he covers every written word about Atlantis and his writing is totally captivating. From ancient history to modern psychics and the newest technology.

He has created, in easy-to-read bite-sized pieces, woven from a multitude of sources; disparate sources such geologists, and scientists mapping the floor of the Atlantic Ocean, mythologies, ancient histories, as well as psychics like Edgar Cayce and others, the Bible and the Essenes, to name a few. What has given us is a clearly defined history of Ancient Atlantis.

A great read — facts, theories and wit make for a history like none other.

About the Author

Michael Le Flem, M.A. is a researcher, adjunct professor of history and philosophy, columnist for New Dawn Magazine and KennedysandKing.com, a scuba diver and guitarist. He grew up in South Florida, and attended the Harriet. L. Wilkes Honors College and Florida State University, where he studied Western intellectual history and U.S. foreign policy.

‘Visions of Atlantis: Reclaiming our Lost Ancient Legacy’ is his second history book after 2008’s ‘The Specter of Reason.’

Michael is a book reviewer for Publisher’s Weekly, and was a one-time research assistant for investigative journalist Whitney Webb while she was writing her best-selling two-part series, ‘One Nation Under Blackmail.’ He has also ghostwritten for authors of the History Press.
